Wear a Hat for Kat:
To help raise awareness of the importance mental health understanding Danuta organized a "Hat Day" for May -Mental Health Month at the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club. The funds raised were donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

This daily correspondence between schools she attended and us gives you a glimpse of our daily life. Most parents of typical children do not communicate on daily basis with the teachers. This gives a reader an insight to how important daily communication is for a child with autism.
Kat has attended school since she was 3 years old. These are school notes that were result of correspondence with her parents and her teachers. We have made comments at a later date reflecting back on the impact of these events. Kats School Notes Index

12/8 K. & C., Kat's OT will change starting Dec 22 . It will be on Tuesdays at 2 PM . I will need to pick her up between 12:30 - 12:45 . I would love to see her with the "big book " program. is there any good time to observe ,

Thursday sounds great . What time ?

PS Kat did something neat yesterday. I was holding her foot so she couldn't get away from me . She was trying to get out she said "Come here ", and that didn't work , then she said " Give me your hand ", as soon as I let go to give her my hand she ran away .

Pretty tricky! I really think she's learning that language is power .

Kat asked for Bridget today in the play area . She came up to me , sat on my lap & asked for her several times .

12/15 K.,
Bridget was thrilled to hear that . Kat is using video phrases to talk . Yesterday I was holding her hand and she said " Excuse me . . . Lamb Chop said ." She's been very social with the dog . They are playing chasing game !

12/15 We watched a special snowman movie today . Kat did a really good job answering questions about it .
She wore the right shirt! Hope Jenny is enjoying the chase!

12/16 Kat was into playing games last night , "Following the leader," "Here we go around Mulberry Bush". "Ring around the Rosie " . She had all of us out of breath and still wanted to do more .

S. brought in a Christmas songs video and Kat loved it - she worked all day to earn " Christmas songs ". She is working very well on keyboarding these days -
