My articulation test has temporarily (Ihope ! ) disappeared . However , just listening informally , the /th/ sound , as in "teeth" is misarticulated , Kat uses a /p/ ,but she's not very stimulable for that sound . she can make a good /f/ which is closer to /th/ so I think we should try for /f/ instead of /p/ in ' th " word and then we'll go for the /th/ .

We didn't see any candy today . Did it get packed or ( Ihope not ) eaten!

4/6 I found the missing articulation test and I did it with Kat today . She has a b/for/v/ substitution and /b/ , /s/ , and /f/ substitution for /th/ . I can work on these at school and I'll send home some practice materials . she's slightly stimulable for these sounds ( able to imitate them ) . she does have some difficulties with auditory discrimination,which may sound like articulation problems , but are more specific . If you have any questions , please let me know .

Thanks for the Easter goodies! Over the break we are asking parents to write their placement expectations for next year & submit them by Monday ( April 26). We will then schedule individual meetings after the break

4/20 K. & C. ,

First of all Tom & I would like to thank you and everyone else for all your hard work with Kat. She made a lot of growth last year and made tremendous progress which could not have been possible without you all !

In response to your request we would hope that Kat can remain in the class. Some items we would like to see in her individual programs are :

- more independent work skills ( working on worksheets alone )

- longer periods of work time

- less use of reinforcers

- learn to associate schedule with time of day

- have textbooks , workbooks with some homework so that we can reinforce the skills at home as well

- have data either go back & forth in back pack or a copy available at least once a week so that we can see where she is having the toughest times

We would like to start working on some of these goals this school year if possible. If you have other ideas or suggestions please let us know . We will be gone April 24th to May 4th . Kat will not be in school then .

your words of appreciation are very well received by all of us here ! Thank you . Your expectations are quite reasonable as well as appropriate - we will further discuss them when we meet soon in the future.

Kat told me she is going to Disney World - wow ! She will have a wonderful time ( is this her choice ? ? ! ! )

4/20 Hi , in the box are the puppets I hope they work out ( they're not as sturdy as the sewn ones but were faster to make) if any break send them back I'll fix them up .

Your words of support really meant a lot to us all . Thanks! ! The puppets are super! We'll use them today! The kids liked them & they helped w/ comprehension. The jacket is an extra we have in class . We sent it so Kat would be warm on the way home ( the weather is crazy!). Thanks for returning it .
